This was never about actually winning. This was about doing something I normally wouldn’t do.
Time had been devoted to taking care of my people. My children, of course, my parents, and my sister. I held the grief of losing my parents and sister in, as each person transitioned, letting it pile up and fester.
From the mess and rubble that remained after the pain and grief finally came to the surface, I was able to build a foundation.
Entering the contest was me testing that foundation. Doing something for me. About me, and knowing the foundation was rock solid.
I knew I wasn’t going to win the money, but I won when I clicked the entry submit button.
With all that said, folks, just do it. The thing that scares you the most. The thing you think you could never accomplish or never become. Just do it. Sometime the end result isn’t t what matters. It’s the flame that’s ignited when you try! Again, thanks, and I love you!
